Security and Emergency
This page brings together verified Public safety and emergency information relevant to Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ. It distinguishes statutory emergency services from community safety arrangements and should be used alongside current official instructions in an emergency.
Emergency Information
For an immediate threat to life, suspected crime or serious public disorder, contact the Nigeria Police Force or the appropriate statutory emergency service through its current official channel. Road incidents should be reported to the relevant road-safety authority, while fire, rescue and medical emergencies should be directed to the responsible statutory service.
community supported security arrangements can assist with lawful information sharing and coordination, but they complement rather than replace the responsibilities of authorised government agencies.
Community Safety Institutions
Community safety in Ògèrè depends on appropriate cooperation among statutory services, recognised community-security arrangements and community institutions.
Nigeria Police Force
Ogere Police Station provides statutory policing and law-enforcement services, including response to reported crime, threats, violence, public disorder and other matters requiring police intervention.
Amotekun
The Ogun State Security Network Agency forms part of the state security architecture. A dedicated Amotekun outpost was provided in Ògèrè through a community supported intervention in 2025.
So-Safe Corps
The Ogun State Social Orientation and Safety Corps contributes to community-security and safety arrangements serving the town.
Agbekoya Security
Agbekoya Security, Ògèrè Division, forms part of the recognised local security presence supporting peace and safety in cooperation with the appropriate authorities.
Vigilante Group of Nigeria
A security outpost was provided for the VGN as part of the town’s security infrastructure. Its role should remain within lawful community support and information sharing functions.
Road, Fire and Rescue Services
FRSC Ogere Unit Command, TRACE, fire and rescue services and other authorised responders contribute to road safety and emergency response around the town’s major transport corridors.
Safety Information Principles
Safety information published on the community website should support lawful, practical and responsible action. The following principles guide publication and community use:
- respect the law and cooperate with recognised government security agencies;
- share useful community intelligence through appropriate channels without publishing sensitive operational detail;
- identify risks early and prioritise prevention, peaceful resolution and protection of life and property;
- keep emergency information current, clearly attributed and dated where appropriate;
- support emergency preparedness and coordination among relevant institutions; and
- treat community supported security arrangements as complementary to, not substitutes for, statutory law enforcement.
Development and Prevention
The community record links community safety with road safety, lighting, youth opportunity, environmental management, emergency preparedness and stronger public infrastructure. These are development matters as well as security concerns and are therefore cross-linked with the Development section.
One Community, Clear Accountability
Public safety information should clearly distinguish statutory responsibilities, community supported arrangements and verified emergency guidance. Recognised organisations can cooperate on prevention, preparedness and community awareness while criminal investigation, enforcement and formal emergency response remain with the legally authorised agencies.
