50th Lipakala Day Anniversary 2026
The 50th Lipakala Day Anniversary celebrates fifty years of the annual community heritage and development platform established in 1976. The Golden Jubilee brings together Ògèrè sons and daughters at home and abroad, residents, traditional institutions, community organisations, government, businesses, associations and friends of the town around heritage, unity and future development.
Celebrating Heritage, Unity and Community Development
The 2026 Golden Jubilee is presented under the theme of celebrating fifty years of heritage, unity and community development. Its central message–honouring the founders, uniting the people and building the future–connects remembrance of Olipakala, Yemogun and Lowa-Lida with contemporary community mobilisation.
The programme extends beyond a single festival day. It combines environmental activity, faith, youth empowerment, artisan development, education, health, sports, pageantry, music, traditional display and community celebration over a ten-day period in October.

Fifty Years of Community Impact
The Golden Jubilee brochure presents Lipakala Day not only as an annual celebration but as a platform through which community relationships and development initiatives have been advanced across generations. Its heritage timeline looks from the establishment of the celebration in 1976 through periods of community mobilisation in the 1980s and 1990s, expanding participation in the 2000s and 2010s, recent community projects and the Golden Jubilee in 2026.
Named legacy assets in the brochure include Albert Oyegunwa House, Oba Oladele Ogunbade House, Oba Babington-Ashaye House, Awomosu Agbato House, the Oshinmi Samuel Odugbesan Shopping Complex, the FRSC Office in Ògèrè and the Olipakala Founder Monument.
A Community Renewed
The Jubilee material documents recent community infrastructure and contributions alongside the celebration. It highlights the Town Hall interior redevelopment and dedication in August 2026 and records road, transformer and solar-lighting contributions associated with public and community stakeholders. Palace, Museum and Heritage
The Golden Jubilee is held under the royal blessing of HRH Oba James Obafemi Saliu, Kankanbiina III, Arole Olipakala, The Ologere of Ogere. The brochure presents Ààfin Ológèrè as the seat of tradition and custodian of history and identifies the Ògèrè Museum and Lipakala Cultural Centre as important heritage anchors.
The Museum, located within the Palace grounds, is described as preserving ancient artefacts, traditional regalia and the history of the community. The Jubilee publication gives opening times of Monday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while advising advance ticketing or a courtesy gate fee.
