Corrections Policy
The Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ community website aims to be a reliable reference source. This policy explains how factual errors, historical disagreements, outdated information and material omissions should be reviewed and corrected.

What Can Be Reported
- incorrect names, dates, titles, locations or factual statements;
- outdated officeholder, project, event, business or contact information;
- misidentified photographs or inaccurate captions;
- privacy, consent, copyright or attribution concerns;
- historical claims that conflict with a documented community or archival source; and
- material context that changes the meaning or fairness of a published record.
How to Submit a Correction
Email contact@ogereremo.com with the page URL, the statement or item concerned, the proposed correction and, where possible, supporting evidence. Historical or institutional corrections should identify the relevant source, custodian or issuing body.
Review Process
Routine errors may be corrected by the authorised editorial team after checking the source. Sensitive matters involving traditional institutions, living-person profiles, security, elections, legal claims, government attribution or disputed history may require escalation to the relevant subject owner, community institution or adviser before publication is changed.
The website will not treat self-attestation alone as sufficient for a material correction where independent or institutional evidence should reasonably exist.
Historical Variants
Some Ògèrè historical sources contain different names, dates, spellings or interpretations. Where more than one credible community record exists, the editorial response may be to document the variant rather than delete one tradition and silently replace it with another.
Correction Records
Minor typographical corrections do not need a public change note. Material corrections that affect meaning, attribution, status or a person’s record should, where appropriate, include a dated correction or update note so the history of the change remains transparent.
Urgent Safety or Privacy Issues
If published content creates an immediate safety, privacy or legal risk, it may be temporarily removed while the underlying issue is assessed. Removal for review does not by itself determine whether the original information was correct or incorrect.
