Ongoing development of a modern recreation centre at Panada, Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ, sponsored by High Chief Kesington Adebutu KJW.

The people of Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ witnessed the foundation-laying ceremony for a modern Recreation Centre on Monday, 31 August 2026 at Panada, Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ, along Abeokuta Road. His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba James Obafemi Saliu, Kankanbina III, Arole Olipakala, the Ológèrè of Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ, performed the ceremony for the project sponsored by High Chief Kesington Adebutu KJW.

The Ológèrè led prayers and performed the symbolic laying of the foundation block. Those present included Lady Evangelist Temitayo Ladejobi, President of the Ògèrè Community Development Association (OCDA); High Chiefs, Chiefs and Baales of Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ; Christian and Islamic religious leaders; members of Egbe Ibile and clubs; and other community members.

The Recreation Centre is sited on about one acre of land at Panada. The current design scope provides for:

Main building: cinema, indoor games arena, office, virtual games and gym.
Poolside: swimming pool, changing room and sitting area.
Outdoor games: basketball court, lawn tennis court and table tennis.
Playing area: children’s playground.
Open bar: bar and store.
Gate house: security post and convenience facilities.

The architectural plans also include a modern restaurant, a thatched open bar or gazebo by the pool, and a gate house for security.

The Ológèrè donated the land for the project. At the ceremony, His Royal Highness explained that the donation was intended to keep the facility close to the people, reduce the risk of abandonment and open the axis for further development. He also described the expected benefits as increased economic activity, employment and healthy recreation for Ògèrè sons, daughters and residents.

On behalf of OCDA, Lady Evangelist Temitayo Ladejobi thanked High Chief Kesington Adebutu KJW for sponsoring the project and appreciated the Ológèrè for making land available for community development. High Chiefs and community members present expressed support for the project and its completion. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the sponsor, the Ológèrè, the project team, and the peace and progress of Ògèrè Rẹ́mọ.
